+Our amazing clients AC3D have achieved a significant milestone in #concrete AM by completing a 10 feet tall, 200 square foot demo build in 10 hours using Ai Build software. With the success of this demo build, AC3D will now increase both the print speed and scale of subsequent structures, we can’t wait to see the results!

+In the video, you can see some of AC3D’s workflow in Ai Build software. After the workflow is made our software simulates the entire build sequence before physical printing begins. This simulation process, which mirrors the eventual printing, is developed to provide clients with layer-by-layer reassurance, ensuring heightened accuracy, efficiency and optimisation of the AM process.

We worked with the WASP team to seamlessly integrate the new CEREBRO hardware on our platform as a digital twin. “The implementation of CEREBRO on Aibuild software has been successfully completed, demonstrating the full compatibility of the two systems and unlocking endless possibilities for utilising all of WASP’s extrusion systems, including both pellet and ceramic extruders. +🎂 Our Co-Director Tom Burtonwood is from the UK and folks there say “Many Happy Returns” as a birthday greeting. It means to have many happy days or rewards. We thought it would be a fun way to loop together our shared interests in recycled material, robotics and iterative practices. 🎁

+📌We founded Happy Returns in June 2021 recognizing an opportunity in Chicago for a creative studio that would facilitate our individual artistic practices and where we could collaborate on projects for clients from a range of different sectors. 📐
+
+📥We specialize in combining 3D scanning, 3D printing and CNC fabrication to translate real world objects ie: sculptures, prototypes, etc and transform them into new materials and contexts at a fraction of the cost that traditional mold making and sculpture techniques would require. Clients  include the Michael Reese Trust, Jenny Kendler, Process Process, Davis Handmade, True Form Productions and Marz Community Brewing. 📤

+♻️ Happy Returns, along with alt_ Chicago cofounded Redemptive Plastics in 2022 and were awarded an Earth Art Chicago grant to produce street furniture with recycled plastic. Cody shared his extensive research in plastics with the Redemptive Plastics project to develop a system to reclaim waste consumer plastics. Happy Returns continues to collaborate with alt_Chicago on the Redemptive Plastics projects, follow @redemptiveplastics for news and information on how to contribute to this project. ♻️

+In addition to fabrication work we often consult with clients. Cody was invited by Norman Teague Studio to consult on his body of work for the “Everlasting Plastics” U.S Pavilion at the 2023 edition of the Venice Biennale. Norman came through the studio and worked closely with Happy Returns to realize his project.
