In an effort to make the server more accessible, fun, and productive for all, there is going to be a set of basic rules enforced on the server. They are listed below :)
Server Rules:
1. Don't be an Asshole! Here's some questions to help you determine if you're being one :) https://wiki.opensourceecology.org/wiki/Microasshole_Test
2. Don't discriminate! This includes, but IS NOT LIMITED TO, race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, etc.
3. Keep it on topic (except in the off-topic channel).
4. Don't spam. If you're posting over and over without trying to open a dialogue or actually connect with other folk on the server, you're spamming.
5. You get ONE account. If you use multiple accounts to attempt to escape moderator/admin action that will result in a ban of all of your accounts. No exceptions.
6. Reporting your concerns about the server and its users is encouraged! Reports made to moderators/admins in good faith will be taken seriously without repercussions.
What happens if I break a rule:
1. If it was an honest mistake, let us know! We want a space for everyone and people are fallible, so we understand if you have a bad day or a moment where you're not at your best.
2. If you break a rule we'll do our best to let you know when it happens so you can course correct.
3. Strike one is a timeout for a short period.
4. Strike two is a mute for a longer period (mod/admin discretion).
5. Strike three and you're out!
This list of rules can be changed at any time by the admin team without prior notice. If you think a rule should be changed, message me and I'll bring your recommendation to the moderation team! (edited)
