Mostly cool factor though a proper 5 axis can do geometries (such as turbines) that cannot be done otherwise except by casting (which has a lower tolarence) it can also do parts that otherwise would need multipul setups

Have you looked into tesla turbines? They seem much easier to fabricate. Been wondering if the discs for one could be casted then machined down using a rotary EDM process

Those work but this is more for repair and production of current designs
