Awesome, somebody wants to make filament ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6KFhqo7qXg But sooner or later filament be replaced by pellets and granulate as we hear from bigger clients. There is btw. a one-stage pellet cutter attachment in progress; finger cross this thing works πŸ™‚

Dear diary, yep, and you'd need pretty small pellets this one here is about 900e in materials, 5-7 days for the novice, runs up to 6-8h / 7, since months, robodig 25mm screw | https://forum.osr-plastic.org/t/extrusion-v3-6-lydia/10119 More todos, based on market observation, of the last 5 years πŸ™‚
  • custom PCB, extensible, 3 build-in PIDs, Modbus (TCP), touchscreen, still couldn't find anything suitable ...
  • modular housing
  • modular barrel & screw
  • flexible nozzle interface
just in case you're bored πŸ˜‰
4:01 PM
btw. 3DEvo is using mini-din-rail modules (contactors, fuses, timers, ...) - can't find those anywhere ...

A proper introduction into plastic waste, streams and decentralized recycling : Advancing Plastic Recycling: Challenges and Opportunities in the Integration of 3D Printing and Distributed Recycling for a Circular Economy https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4360/15/19/3881
The concept of the circular economy has emerged as a promising solution to address the mounting concerns surrounding plastic waste and the urgent need for sustainable resource management. While conventional centralized recycling remains a common practice for plastic waste, centralized facilities may prove inadequate in handling the ever-increasi...

you're welcome πŸ™‚ Happy that big names as MIT, LEGO pick this up, again. There will be some updates for Lydia (https://forum.osr-plastic.org/t/extrusion-v3-6-lydia/10119) sometime in February.
7:35 AM
adding melt pumps, siemens, modbus, ... πŸ™‚
7:36 AM
if anyone has some spare time, could need a hand with the feedsystem (air suction) & control as shown above (edited)
7:39 AM
well, and gas heating & a custom PID controller would be nice too πŸ™‚

nice, was always wondering how to trace print parameters(https://git.osr-plastic.org/osr-plastic/osr-cad/src/branch/master/src/print/slic3r.ts), along with captured footage, to get the best quality possible - perhaps a task for AI as well πŸ™‚ πŸ’ƒ

technically, marlin should be pimped for Modbus, ... to map motion data, on top πŸ˜‰

I have no idea what you're talking about.

'print quality', measuring the output, along with settings, and footage - could be even automated πŸ™‚

that's another todo btw, database of printable waste
12:02 PM
might be even on the menu for https://github.com/Mach30/linkml - report templates, etc...

Still confused as to the context of what you're alluding to. It's also 4 am where I'm at so my brain's probably not operating within nominal parameters

How has it been working for you? I was spooked on Hydrolysis (although i learned via the CNC Kitchen Video that it softens not melts the plastic), and currently still Filament Diameter Tolerances, but i'm hyped to hear about how it has been going for you
5:46 AM
I forget which it was, i'll grab the link, buit i was in the process of merging all the info on them onto a wiki page + making a bom/to-print list

I ended up going a bit off script from the official build documentation, since I built mine from an Ender 3 V2, as opposed to an Ender 3. I also ended up having to print (and re-print) some of the parts not included in the official docs (such as the fan shroud) in PET filament using rectilinear 100% infill (inspired by CNCKitchen's video on printing transparent PETG https://youtu.be/9qb25Gi4Jv0) because its PETG counterparts either ended up yielding due to heat or breaking due to stress. Otherwise, it works quite well! The homemade PET filament is quite possibly the strongest, toughest, most heat resistant filament I've worked with and is easily now my go to filament of choice for mechanical parts. Caveat though is you essentially have to create custom print profiles (custom print temp, print speed, and extrusion ratio) for every brand of PET bottle, since not all of them have quite the same melting temperature or thickness when stripped

I wonder if that plastic scanner thing can help, although sensitivity of that vs the miniscule amount of additives also molecular chain length maybe? wait also dyes for green sprite bottles and whatnot too

I'll have to post it in #bio-petrochemistry but i guess Parrafin Wax can be used as a Plasticizer?
6:47 AM
I've been trying to find out how it is made, and got fed into various factory's feeds/websites and much of them were marketing for PVC Additives i guess
6:47 AM
May have just been the "micronized wax" maybe

I'm not familiar with Parrafin Wax. Is that an ingredient that can be used to make PLA? (edited)

It’s the same stuff used in candles and whatnot; wax from Crude Oil, not from Bees or Certain Trees.
4:50 AM
I think it is added to reduce melting temperature and maybe increase plasticity? I really need to read up on it more to be certain.

anyone wants a video walkthrough/live for this ? it's the last DIY'ish version I do, after that, it's just getting stupid expensive (CEAD) ... currently featuring an Omron-MX2 (via Modbus), and Omron-PIDs (also via RS485), breakout board : Arduino-Portenta, H7 - just perfect, DACs, ADCs, COMs, bang on ... this goes on a ABB 6650, also equipped with Milling-Head (pneumatic quick-release), I hope they do print some awesome boats, exported to Africa, just to piss off @katharinaelleke's boss, and make things easier for Noor 😍 😽 πŸ’ƒ old firmware, for Controllino mega : https://git.osr-plastic.org/osr-plastic/osr-firmware/src/branch/master/print-head-hydra new one is in progress, using a new framework, platform.io, ... ah, just for the fun, If anyone needs work, need some Marlin extensions (custom G/M - Code), mainly to implement Modbus/CAN, ...

Recycled Reprocessed PLA is a thermoplastic resin derived from annually renewable resources and is a transparent general purpose extrusion grade that is used naturally or as with pigments added This is a high molecular weight biopolymer grade that processes easily on extruder Can also be used
