Previously we would load admin staff action logs unconditionally as soon
as the controller was instantiated, this is not desirable we only want to
run the query when you visit the route.
New Reminder Types
-------------------------------------
* Add a "later this week" reminder which is today + 2 days, will not show if we are on the days Thu-Sun
* Add a "start of next business week" reminder which is 8am Monday
Bugfixes and Tweaks
--------------------------------------
* Move dates out of translation for reminder types and yield HTML for tap-tile for more customizable content and styling
* Make sure double clicking the bookmark icon in quick access takes users to the new bookmarks-with-reminders page
* Sane default to 8am (start of day) for custom reminder with no time
This is so users with huge amount of bookmarks do not have to wait a long time to see results.
* Add a bookmark list and list serializer to server-side to be able to handle paging and load more URL
* Use load-more component to load more bookmark items, 20 at a time in user activity
* Change the way current user is loaded for bookmark ember models because it was breaking/losing resolvedTimezone when loading more items
Previously we relied on race conditions to correctly open a draft, so this
broke.
New code is deliberate.
Also corrects missing observers on composer action
Introduce the concept of "high priority notifications" which include PM and bookmark reminder notifications. Now bookmark reminder notifications act in the same way as PM notifications (float to top of recent list, show in the green bubble) and most instances of unread_private_messages in the UI have been replaced with unread_high_priority_notifications.
The user email digest is changed to just have a section about unread high priority notifications, the unread PM section has been removed.
A high_priority boolean column has been added to the Notification table and relevant indices added to account for it.
unread_private_messages has been kept on the User model purely for backwards compat, but now just returns unread_high_priority_notifications count so this may cause some inconsistencies in the UI.
When editing a post we were incorrectly saving a draft prior to user typing
This caused a bloat in the amount of drafts saved per user and inconsistency
around behavior of "escape" button.
It also lead to lots of warnings about draft conflicts when copying stuff
between posts.
The code is improved to use promises more appropriately, however further
changes are needed to clean up internals so methods consistently return
promises.
Too many methods in the controller sometimes return a promise and sometimes
an object. Long term the methods will become async and all of this will be
corrected.
Usage:
```
{{d-button icon="times" label="foo.bar" isLoading=true}}
```
Note that a button loading without an icon will shrink text size to prevent button to jump in size.
A button while loading is disabled.
The streamlength/height code when true would return just after we had inserted the timeline-controls, resulting, on topic-progress event to display an empty timeline-controls when clicked.
I think this code in unecessary and we should only rely on the code in `hideProgress` which will currenly hide the progress is the stream has only one post displayed on desktop (always shown on mobile).
We have no way of detecting if a browser window is behind another window
or off screen on a virtual desktop.
In some cases we may want events to be delivered quicker to the browser.
Specifically a user may still have a window in view but is not interacting.
This gives users 20 minutes of extra "long polling time" prior to shifting
to short polling.
Even though `type` is an alias for `method`, we have custom logic in `/discourse/lib/ajax` that checks only `type`, and ~200 other ajax calls in the codebase already use `type` param.
Previously we would consider a user "present" and "last seen" if the
browser window was visible.
This has many edge cases, you could be considered present and around for
days just by having a window open and no screensaver on.
Instead we now also check that you either clicked, transitioned around app
or scrolled the page in the last minute in combination with window
visibility
This will lead to more reliable notifications via email and reduce load of
message bus for cases where a user walks away from the terminal
Based on issues identified in https://meta.discourse.org/t/improved-bookmarks-with-reminders/144542/20
* Implement the resolvedTimezone() function on the user model where we return the user's timezone if it has been set, or we guess it using moment and save it to the user using an update call if it has not yet been set. This covers the cases of users who do not log out/in often who will not get their timezone set via login. This also makes sure the guess + save is done in a non-obtrusive way not on every page -- only when it is needed.
* Before if a user's timezone was blank when they visited their profile page we were autofilling the dropdown with the guessed timezone from moment. However this was confusing as it would appear you have that timezone saved in the DB when you really didn't. Now we do not autofill the dropdown and added a button to automatically guess the current timezone to make everything more explicit.
Limitations: the user profile "open external links in new tab setting" is
slightly broken for "External URL" permalinks.
Remove the copy from the admin permalinks page stating that this doesn't work.
I think this issue is caused by a current regression in ember
https://github.com/emberjs/ember.js/issues/18147
but using `id` works just fine in templates. This also appears to be the
only template file we are using `elementId` directly in the template.
Based on reports here https://meta.discourse.org/t/improved-bookmarks-with-reminders/144542
* Because the `userHasTimezone` property was computed and we were checking on an (essentially) global object, ember was not aware that the user timezone had changed because it changed in a different place. instead set the timezone as internal state for the modal on show and base the computed property off of that so it mutates correctly
* The tap-tile components were in the admin folder completely unnecessarily, move them out into the main discourse folder otherwise noone else can use the new bookmarks (icon + text is missing)
* Improve the bookmark mobile on modal so it doesn't go all the way to the edge and the custom datetime input is easier to use
* Improve the rake task for syncing so it does not error for topics that no longer exist and batches 2000 inserts at a time, clearing the array each time
* Cosmetic fixes for the bookmark modal
* Do not show "later today" when the later time will be > 5pm
* When a custom reminder time is selected, store it in localStorage. The next time the modal is opened, if the last datetime is > now, then a new tile with "Last" will be shown that lets the user reselect that same time.
* Also add an explicit "No Reminder" option that is selected by default
On some sites when bootstrapping communities it is helpful to bootstrap
with a "light weight" invite code.
Use the site setting `invite_code` to set a global invite code.
In this case the administrator can share the code with
a community which is very easy to remember and then anyone who has
that code can easily register accounts.
People without the invite code are not allowed account registration.
Global invite codes are less secure than indevidual codes, in that they
tend to leak in the community however in some cases when starting a brand
new community the security guarantees of invites are not needed.
Mousetrap 1.4 introduced a generic mod helper which lets you set cross platform shortcuts.
Mousetrap.bind('mod+p', _print);
On Mac this ends up mapping to command+p whereas on Windows and Linux it maps to ctrl+p.
This differs from defining ctrl+p and command+p because both ctrl+p and command+p will trigger print on Mac whereas with the mod helper only command+p will.
Add enable_bookmark_at_desktop_reminders site setting default to false a new hidden site setting to hide the "At Desktop" reminder option so we can restrict this further until it is polished.
For convenience the i18n helper has been made returning a SafeString, but when used with other helpers, a String is expected and will cause unexpected behaviors.
This is the root cause of the initial bug fixed in d2bb127e2c
This commit is kept as it's a better security in case of unexpected behavior.
Adds 3 config values that allow to set a custom provider of Gravatar-like API accessible from gravatar_base_url. The gravatar_name is purely cosmetic, but helps with associating name with the service that actually provides the avatars. gravatar_login_url is a link relative to gravatar_base_url, which provides the user with the login to the Gravatar service
* This PR changes the user activity bookmarks stream to show a new list of bookmarks based on the Bookmark record.
* If a bookmark has a name or reminder it will be shown as metadata above the topic title in the list
* The categories, tags, topic status, and assigned show for each bookmarked post based on the post topic
* Bookmarks can be deleted from the [...] menu in the list
* As well as this, the list of bookmarks from the quick access panel is now drawn from the Bookmarks table for a user:
* All of this new functionality is gated behind the enable_bookmarks_with_reminders site setting
The /bookmarks/ route now redirects directly to /user/:username/activity/bookmarks-with-reminders
* The structure of the Ember for the list of bookmarks is not ideal, this is an MVP PR so we can start testing this functionality internally. There is a little repeated code from topic.js.es6. There is an ongoing effort to start standardizing these lists that will be addressed in future PRs.
* This PR also fixes issues with feature detection for at_desktop bookmark reminders
A custom date and time can now be selected for a bookmark reminder
The reminder will not happen at the exact time but rather at the next 5 minute interval of the bookmark reminder schedule.
This PR also fixes issues with bulk deleting topic bookmarks.
* This PR implements the scheduling and notification system for bookmark reminders. Every 5 minutes a schedule runs to check any reminders that need to be sent before now, limited to **300** reminders at a time. Any leftover reminders will be sent in the next run. This is to avoid having to deal with fickle sidekiq and reminders in the far-flung future, which would necessitate having a background job anyway to clean up any missing `enqueue_at` reminders.
* If a reminder is sent its `reminder_at` time is cleared and the `reminder_last_sent_at` time is filled in. Notifications are only user-level notifications for now.
* All JavaScript and frontend code related to displaying the bookmark reminder notification is contained here. The reminder functionality is now re-enabled in the bookmark modal as well.
* This PR also implements the "Remind me next time I am at my desktop" bookmark reminder functionality. When the user is on a mobile device they are able to select this option. When they choose this option we set a key in Redis saying they have a pending at desktop reminder. The next time they change devices we check if the new device is desktop, and if it is we send reminders using a DistributedMutex. There is also a job to ensure consistency of these reminders in Redis (in case Redis drops the ball) and the at desktop reminders expire after 20 days.
* Also in this PR is a fix to delete all Bookmarks for a user via `UserDestroyer`
selected-posts parial is kept and calling the new component to prevent errors with users who would have rewritten topic.hbs
dashboard-problems and version-checks seem less risky and have only been converted to components
* Remove some `.es6` from comments where it does not matter
* Use a post processor for transpilation
This will allow us to eventually use the directory structure to
transpile rather than the extension.
* FIX: Some errors and clean up in confirm-new-email
It would throw an error if the webauthn element wasn't present.
Also I changed things so that no-module is not explicitly
referenced.
* Remove `no-module`
Instead we allow a magic comment: `// discourse-skip-module` to prevent
the asset pipeline from creating a module.
* DEV: Enable babel transpilation based on directory
If it's in `app/assets/javascripts/dicourse` it will be transpiled
even without the `.es6` extension.
* REFACTOR: Remove Tilt/ES6ModuleTranspiler
* Do not grant badges for posts with no user
* Ensure instructions are correct in Change Owner modal
* Hide user-dependent actions from posts with no user
* Make PostRevisor work with posts with no user
* Ensure posts with no user can be deleted
* discourse-narrative-bot should ignore posts with no user
* Skip TopicLink creation for posts with no user
This pr replaces `{{{ }}}` usage by a {{html-safe}} helper. While it doesn't solve the underlying issue, it gives us a path forward without risking breaking too much existing behavior.
Also introduces an htmlSafe computed macro:
```
import { htmlSafe } from "discourse/lib/computed";
htmlDescription: htmlSafe("description")
```
Overtime {{html-safe}} usage should be removed and moved to components properties or specialized components/helpers.

If you are changing your own profile timezone, then on save we set the current user timezone, in case this property needs to be accessed again before the user is reloaded.
From ember-template-lint documentation (https://github.com/ember-template-lint/ember-template-lint/blob/master/docs/rule/no-unbound.md):
```
{{unbound}} is a legacy hold over from the days in which Ember's template engine was less performant. Its use today is vestigial, and it no longer offers performance benefits.
It is also a poor practice to use it for rendering only the initial value of a property that may later change.
Pop up a confirmation box when there is input. This prevents accidental closing
of the dialog boxes due to clicking outside.
This adds a development hook on modals in the form of a `beforeClose`
function. Modal windows can abort the close if the funtion returns false.
Additionally fixing a few issues with loop and state on the modal popups:
Escape key with bootbox is keyup.
Updating modal to close on keyup as well so escape key is working.
Fixes an issue where pressing esc will loop immediately back to the modal by:
keydown -> bootbox -> keyup -> acts as "cancel", restores modal
Needs a next call to reopenModal otherwise, keyup is handled again by the modal.
Fixes an issue where pressing esc will loop immediately back to the confirm:
esc keyup will be handled and bubble immediately back to the modal.
Additionally, only handle key events when the #discourse-modal is visible.
This resolves issues where escape or enter events were being handled by
a hidden modal window.
Introduces `/user-cards.json`
Also allows the client-side user model to be passed an existing promise when loading, so that multiple models can share the same AJAX request
When secure media is enabled and an attachment is marked as secure we want to use the full url instead of the short-url so we get the same access control post protections as secure media uploads.
Meta report: https://meta.discourse.org/t/excessive-requests-to-uploads-lookup-urls-leading-to-429-response/143119
* The data-orig-src attribute was not being removed from cooked
video and audio so the composer was infinitely trying to get the
URLs for them, which would never resolve to anything
* Also the code that retrieved the short URL was unscoped, and was
getting everything on the page. if running from the composer we
now scope to the preview window
* Also fixed a minor issue where the element href for the video
and audio tags was not being set when the short URL was found
* FIX: Add aria-labels to topic list items
Before this fix you could navigate the topic list using a screen reader
and a keyboard but some of the items were not as descriptive as they
could be. The newly added labels make it easier to understand what you
are tabbing over.
In IE11, the browser returns the cached HTML response, rather than the JSON formatted response. Adding the `.json` suffix ensures that the cache is not shared. Same root cause as b0211772
This commit also fixes a deprecation warning as the previous component was overriding a computed property from the group model.
Finally a test has been added as this is the only place where we use list-setting outside of the settings, this was highly subject to regressions.
* Also fixes an issue where if webp was a downloaded hotlinked
image and then secure + sent in an email, it was not being
redacted because webp was not a supported media format in
FileHelper
* Webp originally removed as an image format in
https://github.com/discourse/discourse/pull/6377
and there was a spec to make sure a .bin webp
file did not get renamed from its type to webp.
However we want to support webp images now to make
sure they are properly redacted if secure media is
on, so change the example in the spec to use tiff,
another banned format, instead
d7d4612b2d removed the duplicate call to initState(). However, we are relying on a side effect of the duplicate call for subfolder sites to function correctly when accessed without a trailing slash. To avoid a large refactor before the stable release, this commit restores the old behavior.
Long term we should look at migrating to Ember's built-in location library, rather than maintaining our own (very similar) version
https://github.com/emberjs/ember.js/blob/master/packages/%40ember/-internals/routing/lib/location/history_location.ts
If a group mention could be notified on preview it was given an `<a>`
tag with the `.notify` class. When cooked it would display differently.
This patch makes the server side cooking match the client preview.
Now if a group is visible but unmentionable, users can search for it
when composing by typing with `@`, but it will be rendered without the
grey background color.
It will also no longer pop up a JIT warning saying "You are about to
mention X people" because the group will not be mentioned.
Styling based on element-ids, it is impossible for themes/plugins to display multiple cards on a single page. Using classes is a more flexible approach. The element-ids are maintained for backwards compatibility with existing plugins/themes.
### UI Changes
If `SiteSetting.enable_bookmarks_with_reminders` is enabled:
* Clicking "Bookmark" on a topic will create a new Bookmark record instead of a post + user action
* Clicking "Clear Bookmarks" on a topic will delete all the new Bookmark records on a topic
* The topic bookmark buttons control the post bookmark flags correctly and vice-versa
Disabled selecting the "reminder type" for bookmarks in the UI because the backend functionality is not done yet (of sending users notifications etc.)
### Other Changes
* Added delete bookmark route (but no UI yet)
* Added a rake task to sync the old PostAction bookmarks to the new Bookmark table, which can be run as many times as we want for a site (it will not create duplicates).
* FEATURE: export defaultRenderTag function
This can be helpful for plugins e.g. when combined with replaceTagRenderer: a plugin may want to customize rendering for some tags and let others be rendered with default code
* refactor: don't change version
..as per review comment, https://github.com/discourse/discourse/pull/8941#discussion_r378406809
The `DiscourseLocation.initState` function was accidently renamed in 0431942f (select-kit-2) to `initOptions`. This means that the ember router does not automatically call the function after the router is initialized.
For a long time, we have been calling the `initState` function in the `init` function of discourse-location, which caused an imperceptible URL change to the the root domain, before switching back to the correct subfolder URL when ember called `initState`. This commit removes that call from the initializer, so `initState` is only called once (by ember).
Relevant ember code: https://github.com/emberjs/ember.js/blob/v3.12.2/packages/@ember/-internals/routing/lib/system/router.ts#L695-L699
Meta topic: https://meta.discourse.org/t/secure-media-uploads-expire/140894
This fixes the issue where if secure media was enabled, audio
and video files would do an initial load using the presigned
URL for the media to get metadata information e.g. duration of
track/video. However this started the expiry countdown for the
URL, so when a user pressed play on the media after 15 seconds
the media would be expired and AWS would return a 403 error.
We do not preload media if secure media is enabled. Otherwise
we just set the preload type to "metadata" which is the browser
default anyway.
* FIX: Properly convert quotes to Markdown
When quoting a quote it used to convert the quote header, including the
user avatar and username, into a image and some text and then the
contents. This also caused issues when quoting full paragraphs (or when
selecting paragraphs by triple-clicking) because the user avatar and
name from the following quote would also be included.
This commit implements the support necessary to convert
<aside class="quote"> elements to proper Discourse quotes.
Commit aa24be1 made it possible to build data attributes from image's
Markdown and this changes ensure that the resize controls still work
when data attributes are present.
Extracted from #8772
This will allow developers (in rails development mode only) to log pre-loaded JSON app data to the browser console for inspection.
When a tag is restricted to a secured category that the user can't see,
the message was saying that it wasn't restricted to any categories.
Now it will say it's restricted to categories you can't access.
* DEV: Use Ember 3.12.2
* Add Ember version to ThemeField's DEPENDENT_CONSTANTS
* DEV: Use `id` instead of `elementId` (See: https://github.com/emberjs/ember.js/issues/18147)
* FIX: Don't leak event listeners (bug introduced in 999e2ff)
Our current algorithm for picking the number of notifications to display
when expanding the notifications relies on magic numbers.
Previously we only allowed for header and an estimate of maximum height of
notification container, this is not ideal as there is padding at the bottom
and top of the notification container
This adds a special number for padding.
The longer term fix though is to render the notification panel off screen
then grab the correct count, finally adding it back into view with.
This would allow for large fonts, small fonts, custom themes and much more.
This reverts commit 7133fd8c89.
Unfortunately performCheckSize may have certain situations in topic
navigation where it is unsafe to call.
We need to add som more safety here prior to merging.
Previously it would go to the "html" page when refreshing on the "css" page, and would open an invalid empty-state page when trying to go to the "email style" tab when already on it.
This also enables`@action` use in plugin connectors.
Setting `actions` earlier allows `setupComponents` to use them, for example, when setting up event listeners.
Those are the same arguments that are passed into `after-d-editor` outlet. This will enable plugins that attach to editor preview to be conditionally enabled, usually only for the composer.
Plugins that will use this: discourse-canned-responses, discourse-zoom.
Previously you'd get a server side generic error due to a password check
failing. Now the input element has a maxlength attribute and the server
side will respond with a nicer error message if the value is too long.
* DEV: Add data-notification-level attribute to category UI
* Show muted categories on the category page by default
This reverts commit ed9c21e42c.
* Remove redundant spec - muted categories are now visible by default
This new iteration of select-kit focuses on following best principales and disallowing mutations inside select-kit components. A best effort has been made to avoid breaking changes, however if you content was a flat array, eg: ["foo", "bar"] You will need to set valueProperty=null and nameProperty=null on the component.
Also almost every component should have an `onChange` handler now to decide what to do with the updated data. **select-kit will not mutate your data by itself anymore**
This fixes a bug which caused '{{#unless var}}' to act the same as
'{{#if true}}' because 'unless' was transforming the conditional value
to 'undefined'.
If using {{#if showFooter}} in a template, showFooter is never set to true on a group's g/groupname/activity/topics route (it's correctly set on other group routes like group-activity-posts)
Adds a new route `/u/{username}/card.json`, which has a reduced number of fields. This change is behind a hidden site setting, so we can test compatibility before rolling out.
With this change the script:
* Actually removes original large-sized images
* Doesn't save processed files if their size has increased
* Prevents inconsistent state
* FEATURE: Replace existing badge owners when using the bulk award feature
* Use ActiveRecord to sanitize title update query, Change replace checkbox text
For consistency this PR introduces using custom markdown and short upload:// URLs for video and audio uploads, rather than just treating them as links and relying on the oneboxer. The markdown syntax for videos is  and for audio it is .
This is achieved in discourse-markdown-it by modifying the rules for images in mardown-it via md.renderer.rules.image. We return HTML instead of the token when we encounter audio or video after | and the preview renders that HTML. Also when uploading an audio or video file we insert the relevant markdown into the composer.
Let's say post #2 quotes post number #1. If a user decides to quote the
quote in post #2, it should keep the information of post #1
("user_1, post: 1, topic: X"), instead of replacing with current post
info ("user_2, post: 2, topic: X").
This breaking change was originally a deprecation fix for overriding a computed property `none`.
There are 4 uses of `rootNone` in core and "all-the-plugins":
1. in discourse-chat-integration, admin-plugins-chat-edit-rule.hbs - changed behavior, that I'd consider a fix - `rootNoneLabel` is now used regardless of `siteSettings.allow_uncategorized_topics` value, which I believe was an originally intended behavior (i.e. it most likely hasn't been tested with disabled uncategorized topics)
2. in discourse-slack-official, plugins-slack.hbs - the same as 1.
3. in core, edit-category-general.hbs (in this PR) - no change in behavior
4. in discourse-googlebooks, edit-category-general.hbs - no change in behavior (since `allowUncategorized="true"` is also passed as an argument)
* when we dragged the topic-timeline handle past the last post
in a topic we were not closing the timeline as we would if
scrolling to a specific post
* this also fixes the issue where when scrolling past the end of
the topic with a massive last post, none of the post could be
seen
### General Changes and Duplication
* We now consider a post `with_secure_media?` if it is in a read-restricted category.
* When uploading we now set an upload's secure status straight away.
* When uploading if `SiteSetting.secure_media` is enabled, we do not check to see if the upload already exists using the `sha1` digest of the upload. The `sha1` column of the upload is filled with a `SecureRandom.hex(20)` value which is the same length as `Upload::SHA1_LENGTH`. The `original_sha1` column is filled with the _real_ sha1 digest of the file.
* Whether an upload `should_be_secure?` is now determined by whether the `access_control_post` is `with_secure_media?` (if there is no access control post then we leave the secure status as is).
* When serializing the upload, we now cook the URL if the upload is secure. This is so it shows up correctly in the composer preview, because we set secure status on upload.
### Viewing Secure Media
* The secure-media-upload URL will take the post that the upload is attached to into account via `Guardian.can_see?` for access permissions
* If there is no `access_control_post` then we just deliver the media. This should be a rare occurrance and shouldn't cause issues as the `access_control_post` is set when `link_post_uploads` is called via `CookedPostProcessor`
### Removed
We no longer do any of these because we do not reuse uploads by sha1 if secure media is enabled.
* We no longer have a way to prevent cross-posting of a secure upload from a private context to a public context.
* We no longer have to set `secure: false` for uploads when uploading for a theme component.
* UI: Mass grant a badge from the admin ui
* Send the uploaded CSV and badge ID to the backend
* Read the CSV and grant badge in batches
* UX: Communicate the result to the user
* Don't award if badge is disabled
* Create a 'send_notification' method to remove duplicated code, slightly shrink badge image. Replace router transition with href.
* Dynamically discover current route
Now that the spec is finished use the unprefixed API, which was also moved
from window to navigator.
Still uses feature detection so it fail gracefully when not available in
This can be used for themes/plugins to specify additional URL parameters to be used when starting authentication. Example usage:
```
LoginMethod.findAll()[0].doLogin({params: {mydata: "myvalue"}});
```
* Make scrolling to bottom post in topic more consistent
* when using the slider to scroll past the bottom post,
we now scroll to the bottom of the post/page IF the
post height is > the window height (e.g. really long
onto and jump to the top of the post
* this also removes the mobile hack that would always jump
to the top of the last post on mobile
43ddf60cdf introduced a new method for dismissing new topics in topic-tracking-state, which works on a per-category basis.
This commit removes the old mechanism, which was to delete all 'new' topics from the local tracking state, regardless of category.
Page used to jitter when oneboxes loaded images lazily.
Previously we inserted the the "shadow" loading image before the "real" image.
This meant that certain styling with `firstChild` CSS selectors would apply
incorrectly to the shadow image.
Additionally we had special case code for onebox and quoted images that was
not really needed due to this fix.
We had an old fix that used computed style for image height and width in
specific scenarios, we now run it all the time.
On slow devices there was a possibility that the cache fetch after amending
src at the end of the process would cause a flash, this is avoided using a
new onload handler.
Plugins like https://github.com/discourse/discourse-calendar add extra HTML (e.g. icons) to user/group mentions. Clicking on those extra elements used to only flash a blank card. Now, the card opens properly.
- Refactor source_url to avoid using eval in development
`highlight` was called from `didInsertElement` which technically doesn't ensure the list is rendered. By wrapping the highlighting code in `afterRender` we ensure it works more consistently.
Our current topic admin menu is not always fully visible on a mobile
device, therefore some options are difficult to click.
To solve this issue, we can display the admin menu on the bottom of the
screen on mobile devices.
- Ensure that the 'notify_moderators' flag is always the last flag when using custom flags.
- Support passign a custom FlagSettings object when replacing flags to reuse existing ones.
* FEATURE: allows plugins to add a global notice
Usage:
```
api.addGlobalNotice(id, text, options = {});
```
Options can be:
```
dismissable // Will display a button to hide the notice if true
html // will prepend html to the next if present
level // alert level, will usee css class of alert component
persistentDismiss // if true won't show notice again on reload
onDismiss // execute a custom action on dismiss
visibility // defines custom logic for notice visibility
```
* FIX: category routes model params should decode their URL parts
Ember's route star globbing does not uri decode by default. This is
problematic for subcategory globs with encoded URL site settings enabled.
Subcategories with encoded URLs will 404 without this decode.
I found this https://github.com/tildeio/route-recognizer/pull/91
which explicitly explains that globbing does not decode automatically.
This was re-encoding the search slug each loop - if the category list was not
the first category in the list, it'd continually search with a re-encoded search
term from the previous iteration. This results in ember 404ing when navigating
to raw encoded category slugs of the form /c/encoded-slug-with-non-ascii
that have no ID attached.
This commit fe9293b8b5 created a regression.
The problem is that dom changed a little bit.
Before it was
```
<tr class="instructions create-account-email">
<td></td>
<div id="account-email-validation" class="tip bad ember-view"></div>
<td><label>Never shown to the public.</label></td>
</tr>
```
And after we got
```
<tr class="instructions create-account-email">
<td></td>
<div id="account-email-validation" class="tip bad ember-view"> </div>
<td><label>Never shown to the public.</label></td>
</tr>
```
That small space may look like not important change.
However, now helpers are hitting that CSS rule:
```
.login-form {
.tip {
&:not(:empty) + td {
display: none;
}
}
```
To fix it, we should render template only if there is a reason - like it was before
```
if (reason) {
buffer.push(iconHTML(this.good ? "check" : "times") + " " + reason);
}
```
* FIX: remove rerenderTriggers
- Using h4 instead of h3 for sub-categories.
- Show category description if it does not have subcategories.
- Implemented equivalent for mobile-view.
- Include description_excerpt in basic serializer. This is needed for
displaying second-level categories in category list.
Follow-up to 9253cb79e3.
The maximum level used to be one, which meant that a category could be
either a parent or a child. If it was a parent, the subcategories were
shown; if it was a child then the parent selector was shown.
With multiple levels of nesting, a category can be both a parent and a
child.
There is a problem that if you read all messages, even when a new one
arrives, the button on the top is not showing.
This is because once the button got `hidden` class, a label under is
properly updated, however, the class is not removed.
Therefore, I added computed isHidden function which is recalculated when
`count` change.
The trouble with having:
/tags/:tag_id/...
and:
/tags/intersection/*tag_ids
for example, is: what happens if you want a tag called intersection?
Under this new scheme. Routes referring to a single tag are unambiguous
because they are prefixed with:
/tag/:tag_id
Routes referring to the collection of tags still start with:
/tags/
This commit just adds the new routes. It doesn't remove the old ones or
cause the new ones to be used.
API keys are now only visible when first created. After that, only the first four characters are stored in the database for identification, along with an sha256 hash of the full key. This makes key usage easier to audit, and ensures attackers would not have access to the live site in the event of a database leak.
This makes the merge lower risk, because we have some time to revert if needed. Once the change is confirmed to be working, we will add a second commit to drop the `key` column.
Hide old bookmark post-menu item if the site setting for the new bookmark reminders is enabled and change icon for the new bookmark functionality to the same as the old bookmark button
Fix null @topic_view error in post serializer for post_bookmark, as new posts do not have a @topic_view
* i was incorrectly toggling the transformed post property
instead of the actual property in the emberjs post model
which broke the bookmark/unbookmark functionality
Note: All of this functionality is hidden behind a hidden, default false, site setting called `enable_bookmarks_with_reminders`. Also, any feedback on Ember code would be greatly appreciated!
This is part 1 of the bookmark improvements. The next PR will address the backend logic to send reminder notifications for bookmarked posts to users. This PR adds the following functionality:
* We are adding a new `bookmarks` table and `Bookmark` model to make the bookmarks a first-class citizen and to allow attaching reminders to them.
* Posts now have a new button in their actions menu that has the icon of an actual book
* Clicking the button opens the new bookmark modal.
* Both name and the reminder type are optional.
* If you close the modal without doing anything, the bookmark is saved with no reminder.
* If you click the Cancel button, no bookmark is saved at all.
* All of the reminder type tiles are dynamic and the times they show will be based on your user timezone set in your profile (this should already be set for you).
* If for some reason a user does not have their timezone set they will not be able to set a reminder, but they will still be able to create a bookmark.
* A bookmark can be deleted by clicking on the book icon again which will be red if the post is bookmarked.
This PR does NOT do anything to migrate or change existing bookmarks in the form of `PostActions`, the two features live side-by-side here. Also this does nothing to the topic bookmarking.
But the "synonyms" can't use the TagSerializer yet. We still have some
code from the discourse-tagging plugin that uses "text" instead of
"name", "count" instead of "topic_count", etc. We should make the js
consistent with the TagSerializer and then stop using tag_counts_json.
Ember was throwing this error preventing the reorder categories feature
from working:
```
access theidproperty (of <(unknown):ember1803>). ... the object in question
is a special kind of Ember object (a proxy). Therefore, it is still necessary
to use.get('id')in this case.
```
So I updated it to use the `get` method
When the tag is muted and topic contains that tag, we should not mark that message as NEW.
There are 3 possible settings which site admin can set.
remove_muted_tags_from_latest - always
It means that if the topic got at least one muted tag, we should not mark that topic as NEW
remove_muted_tags_from_latest - only muted
Similar to above, however, if at least one tag is not muted, the topic is marked as NEW
remove_muted_tags_from_latest - never
Basically, mute tag setting is ignored and all topics are set as NEW
When a component is installed and not assigned to any theme and the user is changing page, we should display a warning.
If the user decides to skip warning or come back later, a warning should not be shown anymore.
Also, when the user clicks "delete" button right after installation, warning about forgotten themes should not be shown.
Fixes an issue where updates to the first post in a topic would be visible only for staff.
Before, because the empty tag would find its way to `PostRevisor`, `TopicsController#update` would create a hidden revision, and later `PostsController#update` would only update that revision.
After this change, `TopicsController` doesn't create a revision at all (unless necessary), so `PostsController` can create it (and correctly decide whether the revision should be hidden or not).
This commit affects the display of translated counts that is used in
multiple places like showing how many posts are selected using the
select posts feature on a topic. It is just a refactor and does not
This feature adds the ability to define synonyms for tags, and the ability to merge one tag into another while keeping it as a synonym. For example, tags named "js" and "java-script" can be synonyms of "javascript". When searching and creating topics using synonyms, they will be mapped to the base tag.
Along with this change is a new UI found on each tag's page (for example, `/tags/javascript`) where more information about the tag can be shown. It will list the synonyms, which categories it's restricted to (if any), and which tag groups it belongs to (if tag group names are public on the `/tags` page by enabling the "tags listed by group" setting). Staff users will be able to manage tags in this UI, merge tags, and add/remove synonyms.
* Support for custom messages and redirects when creating posts
When a post/topic is created Discourse serializes a `NewPostResult`
object. Normally this contains a status like `created_post` or
errors describing why the post could not be created.
There are times when a plugin might want to take the inputted post
and do something in the background. In this case, the plugin
can return a custom `message` and `route_to` attribute in the
`NewPostResult`.
If present, the message will be displayed in an alert, and when "Ok" is
clicked the user will be routed to the new URL.
* FEATURE: Ability to add components to all themes
This is the first and functional step from that topic https://dev.discourse.org/t/adding-a-theme-component-is-too-much-work/15398/16
The idea here is that when a new component is added, the user can easily assign it to all themes (parents).
To achieve that, I needed to change a site-setting component to accept `setDefaultValues` action and `setDefaultValuesLabel` translated label.
Also, I needed to add `allowAny` option to disable that for theme selector.
I also refactored backend to accept both parent and child ids with one method to avoid duplication (Renamed `add_child_theme!` to more general `add_relative_theme!`)
This commit affects the header sorting on the group member and the group
When we receive a list of categories, we should store them so that we
are able to query them in the browser without a page refresh.
This removes a previous fix for the same issue that was much less
general.
This commit attempts to fix two issues that affect quoted images.
The first issue is observed while loading. The 'position: absolute' CSS
property makes 'width' and 'height' behave differently. Instead of using
the known image size, this makes it use the computed width and height of
the image, which should be the right size, as shown to the user.
The second issue is caused by 'object-fit: cover' property which trimmed
the left and right sides of wide pictures to make them fit inside the
quote.
When category is dismissed, `dismiss_new` message is sent to fronted to clean state.
In addition, I noticed that when old dismiss new button is clicked, no message is sent so I decided to kill two birds with one stone.
The plan is to switch over all cases where filterMode is set, but, to
prevent breaking plugins and themes, the category and noSubcategories
need to be inferred from any given filterMode before that can happen.
The group card and group members page were affecting each other and were
leaking members list and the query parameters which led to bad UX
experience and sub-optimal performance (client made more queries because
it was loading fewer members).
This commit refactors the group model to make it more consistent, remove
dead code, move error handling outside of model.
This PR introduces a new secure media setting. When enabled, it prevent unathorized access to media uploads (files of type image, video and audio). When the `login_required` setting is enabled, then all media uploads will be protected from unauthorized (anonymous) access. When `login_required`is disabled, only media in private messages will be protected from unauthorized access.
A few notes:
- the `prevent_anons_from_downloading_files` setting no longer applies to audio and video uploads
- the `secure_media` setting can only be enabled if S3 uploads are already enabled and configured
- upload records have a new column, `secure`, which is a boolean `true/false` of the upload's secure status
- when creating a public post with an upload that has already been uploaded and is marked as secure, the post creator will raise an error
- when enabling or disabling the setting on a site with existing uploads, the rake task `uploads:ensure_correct_acl` should be used to update all uploads' secure status and their ACL on S3
Previously we could not place extra nav items in a particular order.
This change introduces a new `before` attribute to addNavigationBarItem
with this attribute we can place a nav item before "top" or any other place.
Additionally this allows navigation items to force active state. In some
cases we may want an items that is simply a "filter" on latest using `?query_params`
when we do that we can "force" the filter active.
A concrete example is the assign plugin that adds a nav item for
Unassigned => `/c/cat-slug/l/latest?assigned=nobody&status=open`
If we did not force then latest would be selected even though the filter
is clicked.
This is a major change to draft internals. Previously there were quite a
few cases where the draft system would say "draft saved", when in fact
we just skipped saving.
This commit ensures the draft system deals with draft ownership handover in
a predictable way.
For example:
- Window 1 editing draft
- Window 2 editing same draft at the same time
Previously we would allow window 1 and 2 to just fight on the same draft
each window overwriting the same draft over an over.
This commit introduces an ownership concept where either window 1 or 2 win
and user is prompted on the loser window to reload screen to correct the issue
This also corrects edge cases where a user could have multiple browser windows
open and posts in 1 window, later to post in the second window. Previously
drafts would break in the second window, this corrects it.
When autocompleting mentions in secure categories, we immediately populate the list with users which have permission to view the category. This logic is applied to unsecured categories as well, but the server returns an empty list of users. This commit teaches the autocomplete to understand empty lists of users without terminating the autocomplete dropdown.
- destroyDraft which is called when we cancel a draft is now async,
removing race conditions when you click "reply" to a post and are
already editing. We used to trigger double dialogs for cancelling
drafts which was confusing.
- Remove reply as new topic / reply as pm keys, they are no longer
used and only caused confustion. For example we used to pop up a
warning when you are composing a reply and flick to reply as
new topic
- Remove createTopic key, this was a bug that proliferated. Whenever
creating a topic via the C shortcut or clicking on new topic on full
screen search the correct new topic draft key will be used
consistently
- When abandoning an edit we now say "Are you sure you want to discard
your changes" (instead of abandon your post which is confusing)
* DEV: Remove badge-select-controller
1. The `selectableUserBadges` computed property of `badge-title` was being incorrectly overwritten, which triggered computed-property.override deprecation.
2. The `badge-select-controller` mixin contained properties that were used either by `badge-title` component or `badges/show` controller, but none were being used by both. This change moves properties where they belong, and removes the mixin.
* Update app/assets/javascripts/discourse/controllers/badges/show.js.es6
* Improve code brevity
The 'automatically set primary group' checkbox looked like it was associated with the email membership. In fact, it applies to all members who join the group. This commit moves it next to the 'automatic trust level' setting, and puts them both under an 'Effects' heading
* FIX: Do not encode the URL twice
Now that we encode slugs in the server we don't need this anymore.
Reverts fe5na33
* FIX: More places do deal with encoded slugs
* the param is a string now, not a hash
* FIX: Handle the nil slug on /categories
* DEV: Add seeded? method to identity default categories
* DEV: Use SiteSetting to keep track of seeded categories
This feature amends it so instead of using one challenge and honeypot
statically per site we have a rotating honeypot and challenge value which
changes every hour.
This means you must grab a fresh copy of honeypot and challenge value once
an hour or account registration will be rejected.
We also now cycle the value of the challenge when after successful account
registration forcing an extra call to hp.json between account registrations
Client has been made aware of these changes.
Additionally this contains a JavaScript workaround for:
This is client side code that is specific to Chrome user agent and swaps
a PASSWORD type honeypot with a TEXT type honeypot.
A modal's primary action (blue button in the default theme) can now be invoked
by hitting Enter on the keyboard. This applies to all modals that aren't strict
forms as long as the focus is not on a textarea element.
This addresses the following issues:
- on iPad, with keyboard attached, the composer is no longer forced to full screen
- on iPad, with keyboard attached, the topic no longer scrolls when starting a
reply and then cancelling it
- switching between inputs and buttons (formatting, emojis, categories/tags, etc.) no longer
causes layout to bounce around
If the setting is turned on, then the user will receive information
about the subject: if it was deleted or requires some special access to
a group (only if the group is public). Otherwise, the user will receive
a generic #404 error message. For now, this change affects only the
topics and categories controller.
This commit also tries to refactor some of the code related to error
handling. To make error pages more consistent (design-wise), the actual
error page will be rendered server-side.
Using popups is becoming increasingly rare. Full page redirects are already used on mobile, and for some providers. This commit removes all logic related to popup authentication, leaving only the full page redirect method.
For more info, see https://meta.discourse.org/t/do-we-need-popups-for-login/127988
Removes setting for iOS devices that support Visual Viewport API.
On devices where it was previously enabled, it was causing some scrolling drift when invoking the composer.
This is useful by analytics libraries or other code that wants to track
when replies are begun. A new event: `page:compose-reply` is fired with
the topic.
If we are interested in page events (say analytics), they are reported
when the route changes, which does not wait for any promises in
`setupController` to finish.
A plugin might want to know when a topic has fully loaded, so this event
is triggered when that happens.
* FEATURE: Added input for name when creating a new authenticator in user preferences
* FEATURE: Added placeholders to authenticator inputs
* Ran prettier on second-factor-add-totp.js.es6
AppEvents was always a service object in disguise, so we should move it
to the correct place in the application. Doing this allows other service
objects to inject it easily without container access.
In the future we should also deprecate `this.appEvents` without an
explicit injection too.
This fix is needed due to what feels like an iOS Safari bug. The CSS rule `margin-bottom: env(safe-area-inset-bottom);` should not apply to the topic progress element when the composer is visible, because the element is not near the bottom of the viewport.
* Fix broken security key 2FA on mobile login.hbs
* Show nicer error message when a security key already exists
* [COPY] Disable -> Delete for security key editing
* Standardize UI elements in 2FA prefs password confirmation
* Minor fixes to label location for resetPasswordProgress
Partially reverts 94ab48c by using Safari hacks on iPad again.
This brings parity in the composer UI between iPhones and iPads
Hides grippie and fullscreen toggle button when the keyboard is visible on iPads
Clicking fast on the "top", "unread", or "latest" button when browsing a parent category page with subcategories and the setting `Show subcategory list above topics in this category` enabled would cause an exception:
```
Uncaught Error: Nothing handled the action 'triggerRefresh'. If you did handle the action, this error can be caused by returning true from an action handler in a controller, causing the action to bubble.
```
Adds 2 factor authentication method via second factor security keys over [web authn](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Web_Authentication_API).
Allows a user to authenticate a second factor on login, login-via-email, admin-login, and change password routes. Adds registration area within existing user second factor preferences to register multiple security keys. Supports both external (yubikey) and built-in (macOS/android fingerprint readers).
Keeps element 1em away from the right edge of screen
Takes DiscourseHub app nav position into account on iPad
Uses outerHeight to calculate element height including padding/borders
Per new lifecycle https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2018/07/page-lifecycle-api
On Android and latest Chrome when an app transitions from "frozen" to
active the new "resume" event fires with no accompanying "visibilitychange"
event.
This means that often background tabs may be stuck thinking that discourse
has no focus when, indeed, it has.
This leads to cases where no posts are marked read anymore.
This applies to iPhones running iOS 13+.
Previous technique remains in place for iOS 12 and below.
Note that this does not apply to iPads on iOS 13 due to Apple no longer
identifying iPads in the user agent string.
We were counting all the oneboxes in the DOM instead of just the ones in the preview.
Also refactored the logic to count up to 'max_oneboxes_per_post` instead of down to 0.
That also ensured we don't load 11 oneboxes when the setting is limiting to 10.
The dollar sign (`$`) is a special replace pattern, and `$&` inserts the
matched string. Thus dollars signs need to be escaped with the special
pattern `$$`, which inserts a single `$`.
To demonstrate the issue:
- Visit https://meta.discourse.org/#somethingHere while logged in
- Click "log out"
- You will be logged out, but the page will not be reloaded
Setting `window.location.pathname = "/"` will not reload the page if there is a hash present. Using `window.location = "/"` gives us the desired behavior.
In IE11, the browser returns the cached HTML response, rather than the JSON formatted response. A better solution may be to add a `Vary: Accept` header to all of our HTML responses, but this commit should solve the immediate issue.
`fancy_title` is already escaped by Rails. Escaping it again would print
the HTML entity as-is, e.g. `"` instead of `"`.
This fixes the issue by introducing a new `escapedContent` attribute on
the `QuickAccessItem` widget.
* FIX: Cast all numerical values in reports
The backend can return some numerical values in report as strings. That results in unexpected order of values when sorting report tables.
* Create `toNumber()` helper
The `typeof` and `parseFloat` seem to be the fastest path: https://jsperf.com/number-vs-typeof-vs-parsefloat#results
* Extract QuickAccessPanel from UserNotifications.
* FEATURE: Quick access panels in user menu.
This feature adds quick access panels for bookmarks and personal
messages. It allows uses to browse recent items directly in the user
menu, without being redirected to the full pages.
* REFACTOR: Use QuickAccessItem for messages.
Reusing `DefaultNotificationItem` feels nice but it actually requires a
lot of extra work that is not needed for a quick access item.
Also, `DefaultNotificationItem` shows an incorrect tooptip ("unread
private message"), and it is not trivial to remove / override that.
* Use a plain JS object instead.
An Ember object was required when `DefaultNotificationItem` was used.
* Prefix instead suffix `_` for private helpers.
* Set to null instead of deleting object keys.
JavaScript engines can optimize object property access based on the
object’s shape. https://mathiasbynens.be/notes/shapes-ics
* Change trivial try/catch to one-liners.
* Return the promise in case needs to be waited on.
* Refactor showAll to a link with href
* Store `emptyStatePlaceholderItemText` in state.
* Store items in Session singleton instead.
We can drop `staleItems` (and `findStaleItems`) altogether. Because
`(old) items === staleItems` when switching back to a quick access
panel.
* Add `limit` parameter to the `user_actions` API.
* Explicitly import Session instead.
This reverts commit 310a8ac242.
It seems this breaks google authentication. My suspicion is opening
the URL twice invalidates the CSRF after the first access.
If you click a (?) icon beside the reviewable status a pop up will
appear with expanded informatio that explains how the reviewable got its
score, and how it compares to system thresholds.
- prevents keyboard from being invoked when textarea is disabled
- avoids scrolling up when switching focus from title to textarea on new topic creation
This was primarily an issue on mobile, where after clicking the "Messsage" button in the user card, the composer would load behind the user card overlay.
When opening authentication popup, start with an on-site URL. Opening "about:blank", and then POSTing the form does not send same-site=Lax cookies. Opening the popup to a page on the site domain, and then POSTing the form, works successfully.
We refactored some code to avoid app event leak in tests at c462c2f2
Unfortunately this broke all background notifications in title and they
were broken for the past multiple months.
* The read indicator now shows up when no member has read the last post of the topic (written by a non-member)
* The read indicator works on mobile and receives live updates from message bus
* The icon we display in the topic list was changed
* Added a title to the indicator to indicate its purpose when hovering over it
The client-side theme-selector would always apply the first in a series of file change notifications. This has been fixed, so it now applies the most recent notification.
Duplicate notifications were being sent because
- The remote_theme autosave was causing every change notification to be doubled
- Color scheme change notifications were being sent every time a theme was uploaded, even if the colors were unchanged
These duplicate notifications have been fixed, and a spec added to ensure it does not regress in future
* Removes unused styles
This commit only removes unnecessary / duplicate styles. It does not cause any visual changes.
* adds class to `<h1>` tag in header topic info.
This is much better to target than `h1`
* removes unused styles
* header title margin adjustment
* minor header-title margin adjustments
* One more header-title margin adjustment
This minor refactor extracts `UserMenuLinks#profileLink` &
`UserMenuLinks#linkHtml` to allow plugins / themes to control the
profile link definition, and more importantly, how it is rendered.
* Revert "Revert "FEATURE: Publish read state on group messages. (#7989) [Undo revert] (#8024)""
This reverts commit 36425eb9f0.
* Fix: Show who read only if the attribute is enabled
* PERF: Precalculate the last post readed by a group member
* Use book-reader icon instear of far-eye
* FIX: update topic groups correctly
* DEV: Tidy up read indicator update on write
This is useful when changing the category in the composer for example. When opening mini-tag-chooser after, tags will be correctly updated for the selected category.
Every time we type a letter the composer issues a reply length check.
This is due to the interconnecting components, the title one depends on the
body which means that this decision making is passed along each time, even
if the title does not need it strictly.
Anyway...
This optimisation has 3 parts:
1. If the composer string is super long (10000 chars) we will bypass, quote
stripping and space squashing.
2. Quote stripping is now done much more efficiently, we strip them all in
one go
3. Space squashing eg: `hello world` to `hello world` is done in an
efficient loop to avoid needing to generate superflous strings that need
GC
* Reenable: "FEATURE: Publish read state on group messages. (#7989)"
This reverts commit 67f5cc1ce8.
* FIX: Read indicator only appears when the group setting is enabled
* Enable or disable read state based on group attribute
* When read state needs to be published, the minimum unread count is calculated in the topic query. This way, we can know if someone reads the last post
* The option can be enabled/disabled from the UI
* The read indicator will live-updated using message bus
* Show read indicator on every post
* The read indicator now shows read count and can be expanded to see user avatars
* Read count gets updated everytime someone reads a message
* Simplify topic-list read indicator logic
* Unsubscribe from message bus on willDestroyElement, removed unnecesarry values from post-menu, and added a comment to explain where does minimum_unread_count comes from
This adds a 1 minute rate limit to all JS error reporting per IP. Previously
we would only use the global rate limit.
This also introduces DISCOURSE_ENABLE_JS_ERROR_REPORTING, if it is set to
false then no JS error reporting will be allowed on the site.
* FEATURE: Incorporate PWA install prompt into Discourse UI
This is mainly done so Discourse forums stop nagging people to install
on the very first visits to a website.
We will prevent the native install "mini-info" bar from ever appearing,
capture the event that pops with it, and delay it until the user meets
our criteria, which currently is trust_level 1.
If the event happens and the user meets our criteria we show a Discourse
alert banner proposing the install to the user. Dismissal of the banner
is recorded so the user ins't bothered anymore on the same device.
THe main advantage of this solution is that it will be called on each rerendered whereas the other is not once href has been set.
Example API:
```
api.addNavigationBarItem({
name: "foo",
displayName: "Foo",
customHref: function(category, args) {
const router = api.container.lookup("service:router");
const queryParams = { bar: "1" };
return router.urlFor(router.currentRouteName, category, {
queryParams
});
}
});
```
Sometimes, when keeping J or K pressed and scrolling fast, the current
selection would go out of the viewport for a few moments and the
algorithm would try selecting the "best" element that is in viewport.
This bug is reproducible only on certain machines. For example, Linux
machines seem to be passing key events faster to the browser.
This adds support for a `<d-topics-list>` tag you can embed in your site
that will be rendered as a list of discourse topics. Any attributes on
the tag will be passed as filters. For example:
`<d-topics-list discourse-url="URL" category="1234">` will filter to category 1234.
To use this feature, enable the `embed topics list` site setting. Then
on the site you want to embed, include the following javascript:
`<script
src="http://URL/javascripts/embed-topics.js"></script>`
Where `URL` is your discourse forum's URL.
Then include the `<d-topics-list discourse-url="URL">` tag in your HTML document and it will
be replaced with the list of topics.
This commit will for example allow this:
```
api.addDiscoveryQueryParam("my_param", { persist: true });
```
If you page is forum.foo.bar/?my_param=1, when clicking on an "unread" link for example this query string will be kept.
There are 5 visibility levels (similar to group visibility)
public (default)
logged-in users
members only
staff
owners
Admins & group owners always have visibility to group members.
Theme developers can now add any of the transformed color variables to their color scheme in about.json. For example
```
"color_schemes": {
"Light": {
"primary": "333333",
"secondary": "ffffff",
"primary-low": "ff0000"
}
},
```
would override the primary-low variable when compiling SCSS for the color scheme. The primary-low variable will also be visible in administrator color palette UI.
This feature (when enabled) will allow for invite_only sites to require
external authentication before they can redeem an invite.
- Created hidden site setting to toggle this
- Enables sending invites with local logins disabled
- OAuth button added to invite form
- Requires OAuth email address to match invite email address
- Prevents redeeming invite if OAuth authentication fails
All posts created by the user are counted unless they are deleted,
belong to a PM sent between a non-human user and the user or belong
to a PM created by the user which doesn't have any other recipients.
It also makes the guardian prevent self-deletes when SSO is enabled.
This feature allows @ mentions to prioritize showing members of a group who
have explicit permission to a category.
This makes it far easier to @ mention group member when composing topics in
categories where only the group has access.
For example:
If Sam, Jane an Joan have access to bugs category.
Then `@` will auto complete to (jane,joan,sam) ordered on last seen at
This feature works on new topics and existing topics. There is an explicit
exclusion of trust level 0,1,2 groups cause they get too big.
Add the Array.from polyfill for IE11. This is required to support the transpiled ES6 spread syntex generated by babel: https://babeljs.io/docs/en/caveats/
Introduces isIpadOS to our capabilities sniffer, which is currently
compatible with latest iPad beta OS. Older iPad versions will match our
isIOS detection.
Using this new feature, fixes the service worker being blocked in Google
Chrome, Firefox and other browsers while running on Mac OS, where they
work just fine. This enables Desktop PWA install in Mac OS.
- Client-side censoring fixed for non-chrome browsers. (Regular expression rewritten to avoid lookback)
- Regex generation is now done on the server, to reduce repeated logic, and make it easier to extend in plugins
- Censor tests are moved to ruby, to ensure everything works end-to-end
- If "watched words regular expressions" is enabled, warn the admin when the generated regex is invalid
This happened because the modal controller was not clearing the `name`
attribute, which is used for looking up the controller to call `onClose`
on.
Every page navigation would call the method over and over, breaking
state in odd ways.
This feature adds the ability to customize the HTML part of all emails using a custom HTML template and optionally some CSS to style it. The CSS will be parsed and converted into inline styles because CSS is poorly supported by email clients. When writing the custom HTML and CSS, be aware of what email clients support. Keep customizations very simple.
Customizations can be added and edited in Admin > Customize > Email Style.
Since the summary email is already heavily styled, there is a setting to disable custom styles for summary emails called "apply custom styles to digest" found in Admin > Settings > Email.
As part of this work, RTL locales are now rendered correctly for all emails.
* UX: Show a warning when admin clicks save without adding group when changing category permissions
* Use div rather than pseudo element
* Don't pass controller to component
* Use observer instead of a delay
* Refactor
* Rename to validator
* validator is much better than saveValidator
Only restricting cache per age wasn't enough for instances with lots of
multimedia usage and high number of posts.
MaxEntries is also more effective on cleanup, and purgeOnQuotaError
advertise that Discourse cache can be purged if necessary.
* FEATURE: Add search operator to see all direct messages from a user
* Only show message if related messages >= 5
* Make "all messages" the hyperlink
* Review
This commit contains 3 features:
- FEATURE: Allow downloading watched words
This introduces a button that allows admins to download watched words per action in a `.txt` file.
- FEATURE: Allow clearing watched words in bulk
This adds a "Clear All" button that clears all deleted words per action (e.g. block, flag etc.)
- FEATURE: List all blocked words contained in the post when it's blocked
When a post is rejected because it contains one or more blocked words, the error message now lists all the blocked words contained in the post.
-------
This also changes the format of the file for importing watched words from `.csv` to `.txt` so it becomes inconsistent with the extension of the file when watched words are exported.
* DEV: group_list site settings should store IDs instead of group names
* Ship site setting to know when we should migrate group_list settings
* Migrate existing group_list site settings
* Bump migration timestamp and don't set null when migrating is not possible.
If a post arrives via email but must be reviewed, we now show an
icon that can be clicked to view the raw contents of the email.
This is useful if Discourse's email parser is acting odd and the user
reviewing the post wants to know what the original contents were before
approving/rejecting the post.
* FEATURE: Allow choice of category when making a PM public
Previously it would default to uncategorized, which was not ideal on
some forums. This gives the staff member more choice about what they'd
like to do.
* Make the optional category more explicit
* Joffrey's feedback
* DEV: uses with private API for currentPath
router.currentRouteName as a slightly different API and application.currentPath is deprecated
* another fix
* Revert "Revert "FEATURE: admin/user exports are compressed using the zip format (#7784)""
This reverts commit f89bd55576.
* Replace .tar.zip with .zip
There is a bug that when Safari starts up, and reloads the tabs from
the previous session **and** there is a service worker registered for
the scope of the document, all cookies marked as `SameSite=Lax` won't be
sent in the request.
This puts Discourse in a **very** broken state, where:
- You appear as a anon user
- Subsequent xhr requests will come with logged in data
- Refreshing doesn't log you in (cookies are still not sent)
- Clicking on the address bar and hitting enter, will log you in (as it
will finally send those damn `SameSite=Lax` cookies.
Looks a lot like a corner case missed by the fix at
https://trac.webkit.org/changeset/241918/webkit
- adds a migration renaming FA4 icon names in badges
- allows all icons to be used in badges (previously was limited to icons prefixed with fa-)
- renames remaining FA 4.7 icons equivalents
* FEATURE: Allow customization of robots.txt
This allows admins to customize/override the content of the robots.txt
file at /admin/customize/robots. That page is not linked to anywhere in
the UI -- admins have to manually type the URL to access that page.
* use Ember.computed.not
* Jeff feedback
* Feedback
* Remove unused import
And don't load javascript assets if plugin is disabled.
* precompile auto generated plugin js assets
* SPEC: remove spec test functions
* remove plugin js from test_helper
When we delete a post that has replies, we show a modal asking if the user wants to delete the post, the post and its direct replies or the post and all its replies.
If replies are deleted before a post, that modal would ask the user if they want to delete the post and 0 replies.
That commit ensure we skip the modal and directly delete the post in this case.
* FIX: ensures routin with hash doesnt stuck history
Original issue: https://meta.discourse.org/t/hash-anchor-in-url-prevents-further-url-updates/122068/4
* FEATURE: admin/user exports are compressed using the zip format
* Update translations. Theme exporter now exports .zip file. Theme importer supports .zip and .gz files
* Fix controller test, updated locale and skip saving the csv export to disk
Note this is very low severity as the group needs to be created with a
default title that contains HTML, and group creation is restricted to
staff members right now.
Context: https://meta.discourse.org/t/121589
This new setting option lets group owners message/mention large groups
without granting that privilege to all members.
Groups can now be marked as visible to "logged on users". All automatic groups (except `everyone`) are now visible to "logged on users", previously they were marked as public but suppressed in the group page for non-staff.
See related topic:
https://meta.discourse.org/t/back-button-history-not-properly-working/122183
The issue here is the transition was not completing properly which meant
if you backed out of a topic quickly and entered a new one, hitting back
in the second topic would sometimes take you to the previous one instead
of back to the topic list.
This changes the label and behaviour of the "No, keep" button in the confirmation modal when user cancels a draft while on a different topic. The new button label is "No, save draft", and when clicked, the composer will be dismissed without destroying the draft.
If an external plugin inserts an element with class "emoji-picker", something probable if they extend EmojiPicker, it could cause troubles as css is added depending on the emoji-picker height. Just by adding a class of a parent <div> as could be d-editor, we prevent this from happening.
This allows you to temporarily disable components without having to remove them from a theme.
This feature is very handy when doing quick fix engineering.
The global setting disable_search_queue_threshold
(DISCOURSE_DISABLE_SEARCH_QUEUE_THRESHOLD) which default to 1 second was
added.
This protection ensures that when the application is unable to keep up with
requests it will simply turn off search till it is not backed up.
To disable this protection set this to 0.
To reproduce:
1. Visit a url in a new tab such as `/latest?order=views`
2. Click a topic link
3. Click the back button
Before this patch, you would not be sent back to the latest list.
Now, I am somewhat hesitant to delete code like this, but the [original
commit](b2b7f4d905)
explains a situation that I cannot reproduce with the code missing.
I cannot seem to keep the filters as sticky even if I try. At the very
least this is better to commit right now than the currently known broken
situation.
Adds a second factor landing page that centralizes a user's second factor configuration.
This contains both TOTP and Backup, and also allows multiple TOTP tokens to be registered and organized by a name. Access to this page is authenticated via password, and cached for 30 minutes via a secure session.
Look for the specialised version first, before falling back to the
default. This allows the behaviour to be customised based on the type of
notification.
This is a problem that has long plagued Discourse. The root issue here
is that we have to implement our own link click handler, because
Discourse allows users to create HTML blobs of content with links, and
when those links are clicked they must be handled by the Ember router.
This always involved a certain amount of use of private Ember APIs which
of course evolved over time.
The API has more or less stabilized in the last two years, however we
have hacks in our URLs to handle a dynamic root path, depending on how
forums have set up their filters and in what order.
This patch adds a special case for the root path so we needn't update
the URL ourselves otherwise, which preserves the back button on index
routes. The update call would otherwise insert an extra history event if
a route redirected on transition, breaking the back button.
A bug where input focus is displaced on modals was fixed in iOS 11.3 update. This hack was causing problems on topic page since hiding main-outlet results in lost read position after opening and closing a modal.
* SECURITY: Add confirmation screen when logging in via email link
* SECURITY: Add confirmation screen when logging in via user-api OTP
* FIX: Correct translation key in session controller specs
* FIX: Use .email-login class for page
It was expecting a method to remove the reviewable from the current
list, only we were not displaying a list.
Instead, we refresh the reviewable model with the latest result.
* Remove long-deprecated method
* FIX: Memory Leaks when decorating posts
Previously we'd keep creating mixins dynamically when decorating the
same class.
This code changes the API to recommend an `id` parameter for each
decorator which will avoid leaks. All plugins should be updated to
include this parameter, although if they don't in the meantime it'll
just mean a warning in the console (and a continued leak.)
This commit attempts to improve the experience by:
- showing time input as disabled on any platform if date hasn't been set
- showing a placeholder --:-- to emphasize the expected format
* Expose a new plugin outlet. Pass group model to the group-member-dropdown so it can be accessed by plugins
